EXETER — Townlyne Grille owner Chris Moutis said he’s never seen such a crowd at any of the previous political events at his restaurant as the mob that showed up to see former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee Saturday.
More than 100 people stood elbow to elbow with little room to move during the morning coffee and muffin campaign stop. The big turnout in New Hampshire follows news that Huckabee is gaining momentum in Iowa, where a recent Rasmussen Reports poll shows him tied for second place with television personality and former U.S. Sen. Fred Thompson.
Even Huckabee seemed surprised, saying, “I’m amazed this many people are here.”
