A Rumson banker was among the dozens of residents appointed to terms on volunteer boards and committees by the Monmouth County freeholders at the start of the year.
Charles T. Parton was tabbed for a position on the Monmouth County Improvement Authority. He will fill an unexpired term ending on Feb. 1, 2010. All the appointment and reappointment votes at the county government’s Jan. 3 annual organization were unanimous.
The Monmouth County Improvement Authority was established in 1986 as a conduit to cost-saving alternatives to the traditional methods of public capital finance for municipalities, boards of education, local and regional utility authorities and other local and county government entities, according to its chairman, Al Rosenthal.
